2018 Successful convention attractions to Daejeon
The first half of year 2018 has been a prosperous one for Daejeon’s MICE. Many valuable academic events have been attracted into Daejeon, improving its brand as Korea’s best destination for science conventions. The first breakthrough, Daejeon has confirmed the hosting of ‘2020 ASIACRYPT’ conference. ASIACRYPT is one of the world’s top 3 cryptology conferences, where over 300 cryptology experts meet up to exchange consecutive progress on information security and cryptology technology.
Nationwide Academic Spring Symposiums Successfully Finished in DCC
As the center of South Korea’s MICE, the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) has held various academic conferences this spring. Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise(DIME) aims to attract academic associations into Daejeon and promote the city’s unique scientific brand to the public. The ‘2018 Nuclear Safety & Security Information Conference (NSSIC)’ was held in the DCC from March 29 to 30. The NSSIC is the biggest nuclear safety-related event in Korea, with 1,500 nuclear experts and researchers from all over the country gathering annually. Mr. Kazuhide Tomita, the technical counselor of “Japanese Nuclear Regulations,” presented a session about his experience of the Fukushima incident and its lessons.
Conventions to be held in the second half of 2018
The ‘International Union of Materials Research Societies – International Conference on Electronic Materials 2019 (IUMRS-ICEM 2018)’ is to be held in Daejeon Convention Center from August 19th to 24th. The conference will consist of 7 symposia ; Electronic Materials, 2D Materials, Soft Electronics, Functional Materials, Energy and Energy Storage, Bio-engineering, and Emerging Advanced Materials. 2,000 participants are expected, with 1,200 guests from overseas.
