Daejeon accelerates itself to attract more water-related congresses

During the “10th East Asia Dam Conference (EADC)” held this November, Daejeon Metropolitan City was confirmed as the host for the 11th EADC in 2020.

Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise (DIME) participated in the 10th EADC, accompanying the Korea National Committee on Large Dams (KNCOLD) and other Korean representatives. In the event, Mr. Kim Bong-jae, the vice president of KNCOLD, made a congratulatory message for EADC 2018, along with the keynote lecture given by Dr. Yeom Gyeong-taek. However, the most important moment of EADC 2018 was Daejeon being confirmed as the venue for EADC 2020.

This September, DIME attracted the 7th Asia Water Committee (AWC) board of directors meeting into Daejeon, forming a human network with water policy makers in Asia’s major countries. This time, confirmed as the EADC 2020 hosting city, Daejeon Metropolitan City looks forward to making interchanges with 200 dam experts from Asia.

This outcome proves Daejeon’s strengthened cooperation system with water-related groups and organizations such as AWC, K-water, and KNCOLD.

EADC is an international meeting held rotationally by the respective Large Dam Committees of Korea, China, and Japan. The next meeting, EADC 2020, will be held in Daejeon Convention Center in October 2020.
