From October 19 to 22, “2018 Daejeon Science Festival” concluded its schedule in great success.
The officials of Daejeon Metropolitan City stated that the festival’s 44 programs of 5 sections were bursting with 230,000 visitors in total.
Moreover, Daejeon Science Festival this year had a record-breaking number of 59,000 visitors a day, which is unprecedented in the 19 years of its history since 2000.
This year, the opening ceremony was held one day earlier, on a Friday, to attract more visitors on weekends. The sunny day also gave the event a hand—approximately 140,000 people have visited on the 20th (Saturday) and the 21st (Sunday).
The ratio of the audience coming from other regions have increased sharply, which is encouraging. Daejeon Science Festival is attracting more eyes with each consecutive event. This time, one of the four visitors were from other regions. Connected by international events, it was easy to find visitors from overseas as well.
The 2018 Daejeon Science Festival took place with many international events: the Asia Science Expo, Energy Global Conference, World Science Culture Forum, and more. Now, the festival is recognized as an international event.
The dancing robot suit from overseas, “Titan,” was the main eye-catcher at the opening ceremony. It is a 2.4 m–tall entertainment robot suit created by Cyberstein Robots. The built-in dancing, singing, and talking functions attracted many visitors during the four-day schedule.
